This Eid marks a special moment for us. After moving to our new Mount Pleasant home earlier this year, we're celebrating the end of Ramadan in a space that finally feels like ours.
What Eid Looks Like at Tayybeh
For three days this weekend, we're opening our doors with two set menus designed for sharing. The Eid Family Lunch ($140 for four people) runs from 11 AM to 3 PM and includes everything you'd want for a leisurely afternoon meal: labneh dip, za'atar and mhammara manakeesh, fattet hummus, foul, falafel, tabbouleh, and eid mamoul for dessert.
In the evening, our Eid Shared Dinner ($40 per person, minimum four guests) takes over from 5 PM until close. It's a curated menu built around comfort: hummus and pita, beef sambousak, tabbouleh, chicken fatteh, and more eid maamoul to finish.
On Saturday night, Mouhannad El Eek will be performing live starting at 7:30 PM. If you've never heard traditional oud music in person, it's worth coming just for that.
Dessert Boxes for Every Gathering
Not everyone can join us at the restaurant, and that’s okay! This is why we're offering Eid dessert boxes for pickup all weekend. The small box ($25) includes date and sesame cookies, baklava, and swaret al-set. The medium box ($38) is all maamoul, filled with walnut, pistachio, and dates. The large box ($58) adds baklava to the maamoul assortment.
These boxes have become a tradition for a lot of families in Vancouver. People order them for their own tables, for relatives they're visiting, or to bring to community gatherings. We make everything fresh in-house, the same way we've been doing it for years.
Why This Eid Feels Different
Moving to Main Street in Mount Pleasant changed things for us. The space is bigger, the possibilities are growing, and we've met so many new faces while regulars from our former Kitsilano location continue to stop in (we appreciate you!)
Eid is about celebration, and it's also about gratitude. We're grateful to be here, to have a larger, more versatile space, and to continue to serve friends and neighbours who keep coming back.
If you're looking for a place to celebrate Eid in Vancouver this weekend, we'd love to have you. Whether that's for lunch, dinner, dessert to go, or just to hear some live music on Saturday night, the door is open.
