Thank You, Kitsilano

Thank You, Kitsilano

As 2025 comes to a close, we find ourselves looking back not just at what we’ve accomplished but also the incredible people of Kitsilano and the surrounding communities we’ve had the honour of sharing it with. This was a year filled with cooking, gathering, and growing.

From holiday catering and wedding feasts to everyday walk-ins, wonderful workshops, and music-filled nights, your presence gave our food, services and our brick-and-mortar location so much meaning.

From One Kitchen to So Many Tables

This year, we prepared more meals than ever before, from full buffets and elegant boxed lunches to comforting frozen dinners and carefully wrapped dessert boxes. But it wasn’t just about how much food left our kitchen, it was about where it went, what it was a part of and who it brought together.

Whether you carried Tayybeh into your office potluck, family celebration, or a quiet dinner at home, we want to say thank you. You helped us bring the flavours of Syria to new homes, workplaces, and communities across Vancouver.

Our Kitsilano Space: So Much More Than a Restaurant

While we first opened our Kitsilano location back in 2024, this year brought it more to life than ever before. We hosted music nights, game nights, and intimate events. We welcomed familiar faces who had supported Tayybeh since our early pop-up days, and we made new friends who stumbled in for Arabic coffee and ended up returning for dinner (and dessert).

To every guest who shared a story, tried a new dish, brought someone along, or simply stopped by to say hello during your coffee run, you made our space feel like home.

Growing with Continued Purpose

Behind every plate we serve is a mission we remain deeply committed to, uplifting newcomer women and creating meaningful opportunities through food. In 2025, our team of skilled Syrian chefs continued to lead the way with strength, talent, and love.

Every maamoul, every perfectly folded yalanji, every pot of freekeh pilaf carried with it the hands and hearts of women who believe in the power and importance of sharing traditions.

Here's to What Comes Next

While our Kitsilano location may now be closed, we can’t wait to introduce you to our new location at 151 W Broadway, Vancouver.

We’ll be sharing more updates in the new year, but for now, we simply want to say thank you. For supporting us. For choosing Tayybeh. For continuing to show up for us, for each other, and for the community.

We’re grateful to be closing the year full of gratitude, with hearts full.

Much love,

Nihal Elwan

Founder & CEO of Tayybeh
